The Commemorative Air Force – Lake Superior Squadron is a new resident to the Bong Airport in Superior, WI. The Commemorative Air Force is a group of over 70 squadrons that maintains and restores over 160 World War II era aircraft back to flight status. We do this to honor the WW II veterans and to keep this important era of US history alive for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans.
The Lake Superior Squadron is in charge of restoring 2 WW II era aircraft to flight status and need to purchase new hanger doors to help us keep working throughout the winter and to help us protect these valuable planes. We have completed engineering and design of the doors and need around $40,000 to purchase the materials so they can be constructed and installed.
We’re kicking off a holiday fundraising campaign to help start raising funds for our doors. We hope you consider giving, donations can be done with the donate button on our site or directly to our PayPal account:
